About Us
Established in the 1930s by Ralf Barnwell, the business originally started growing vegetables to help with the war effort. It gradually started to supply local shops and greengrocers with fresh veg, growing a few flowering plants as a hobby. When his son Stephen came into the business the flower side flourished, leading to the supply of local garden centers and nurseries.
Now into its 3rd generation of Barnwell's, we grow an extensive range of bedding, veg, alpines and perennials for the trade and public. We employ local people and we work with the very best suppliers that can be found, supporting local businesses wherever possible and with a strong emphasis on British and heritage products. Of course, none of this would have been possible without our loyal customers, new and old, who have always supported us.
